Secrets
Nick and Cara have been dating in secret for almost 2 years by the time we lay our scene. Nick's parents are very hard on him, and have many extreme rules set in place. They have found out once before that he was with a girl at a party and they instructed him to cut things off and not develop the relationship. In spite of this request he continued seeing the girl (Cara). We begin our scene with Nick's father returning home from work after receiving an anonymous tip in the form of a photograph about their hidden relationship.

N. Dad: Children go to your rooms I need to speak with Nick and your mother privately.
*children scurry up the stairs murmuring to themselves*
Nick: Something wrong dad? You are acting really strange
*In a condescending voice*
N. Dad: Take a wild guess son, I'll give you a hint it starts with the letter "c"
Nick: Oh....
*looks down shamefully*
N. Mom: Sweetie, what is he talking about? What have you done?
N. Dad: Should I tell her, or will you man up and be honest for once in you life? explain yourself son.
*says weakly*
Nick: I don't know where to start...
N. Dad: You better try soon!
*anger seeps across his face*
Nick: Well, a little less than two years ago a pretty girl that I had a crush on for awhile name Cara, told me she liked me and asked if I would like to go to the Sadie Hawkins dance with her
*takes a breath in and pauses*
*concerned tone*
N. Mom: Go on please
Nick: okay, so I didn't want to say no, because she would be hurt and not think that I like her too. So I explained to her my feelings and how I'm not allowed to date. She said she understood, but I could tell she was disappointed. I guess I was just caught up in the moment, and never expected things to get this entangled in complications. But..
*sighs*
Nick: I suggested that we go to the dance together and that maybe we could just have one perfect night then go back to friends until we could honestly be together.
*pauses*
M. Mom: Well, if that's it I do wish you would have told me err us, but I'm glad you were smart enough to make a plan.
Nick: Thanks, Mo-
*father cuts him off*
N. Dad: That's just the thing sweetie that isn't it. Is it Nick?
*frowns*
Nick: No, mom it's not I'm sorry.
*makes a face of deep thought*
Nick: Alright. So, the dance went flawlessly, and Cara was breathtakingly stunning. Everything fely so right, so easy, and just good. I was happy for one in my life, truly happy I didn't want it to end and neither did she. So.. we talked about it and ever since that night we have been dating in secret. We would meet up at parties and at school events. We tried to be together as long as we could because we hated being apart. With all that said I want to be very clear on one thing I love this girl and nothing you say or do to me will ever change that.
*makes a firm face*
N. Mom: I am very disappointed in you.
*Father places hand on mothers shoulder gently*
N. Dad: So am I.
Nick: Look, I am sorry I went behind your backs and this is definitely not how I wanted you to find out. We were actually planning to tell you together within the next two months. But I will not apologize for my feelings, because I am 17 and I think it is about time I am allowed to make my own decisions.
*voice escalates throughout speech*
N. Mom: Nick, please just listen-
Nick: No! I know what you are going to say, you want me to cut things off with Cara and tuck in all the loose ends, but I won't, I cant! Now, I am going to be at the lake telling Cara about everything that has happened, and you need to figure out what you are going to do next.
N. Dad: Wait just a second here son! You don't get t-
